Award-winning Stephanie Bolster Returns With Pavilion

By Carmine Starnino

Robert Lalonde's One Beautiful Day To Come

By X. I. Selene

The translation of Robert Lalonde's important 1986 novel, Une belle journée d'avance, deserves flawless typesetting, an effective blurb, and a worthy English title, preferably without the double entendre. The Coalition for Cultural diversity includes 32 Canadian associations that represent creators, artists, broadcasters, distributors, and publishers in publishing, film, television, music, performing and visual arts.

The Coalition advocates that countries and government be entirely free to adopt the policies necessary to support a broad range of cultural expression and the viability of enterprises that produce and disseminate this expression.

The Coalition believes that cultural policy must not be subject to the constraints on international trade agreements, like those of the World Trade Organization (WTO), because many key Canadian cultural policies would be dismantled.
