Michael Blair's Depth Of Field

Summer is a time for light and not-so-light reading. Crime fiction has taken Canada by storm, and we have some excellent mystery and thriller writers here in Quebec: Michael Blair, Louise Penny of the Three Pines mystery series, Leon Berger, and others who add intelligence and writing skills to plotting, characterization, and esoteric knowledge. Short stories are another cool summer pastime when the weather is just too hot to stir. Young adult readers are not neglected, with ideas for exciting reads. And finally, a self-published column brings together the best of the self-published books submitted to the mRb during the year. So read local, shop local, and enjoy your summer somewhere local.
